Limerick family donates €10,000 to Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust

A Limerick family has raised more than €10,000 for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, the charity that helped return the body of the late John O’Grady to Ireland.

John O’Grady, a former captain of Limerick Bohs, died suddenly while on a golf trip in Portugal last year. The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust arranged for his repatriation, enabling the family to lay him to rest at home.

The funds were collected during a memorial golf event held at Adare Manor Golf Club in June. On Saturday 12 September, the O’Grady family presented the proceeds to Colin and Eithne Bell at O’Driscoll’s Bar in Corbally.

John O’Grady was a successful businessman, having worked for Howmedica (now Stryker) in Raheen and held positions with multinationals such as Abbott and Alps Electric Ireland.

The donation will support the Trust’s ongoing work assisting families with the costs and logistics of repatriating loved ones.
