US Supreme Court blocks Trump‑backed Missouri map for midterms

The US Supreme Court on Friday rejected an effort to use a new Missouri congressional map backed by former President Donald Trump, ending a long‑running legal dispute as absentee voting proceeds in the midterm elections.

The justices halted a lower federal appeals court ruling that would have revived the Republican‑friendly map for the November election, which will decide control of the US Congress. No dissenting opinions were recorded.

The decision means the previously contested map cannot be used for the upcoming elections, and the state will revert to the earlier district boundaries.
