A new town‑specific bus service will begin operating in Ennis on 18 October, aiming to ease parking and traffic pressures on the urban fringe.

The service is part of the Local Link network, which has seen a rise in popularity recently. It is intended to provide an alternative for secondary‑school pupils, shoppers, lunchtime diners, match‑goers at the Park and those seeking a relaxed outing, without requiring commuters to abandon their cars entirely.

Local residents have long voiced concerns about the scarcity of parking spaces in Ennis, and the introduction of the bus route is hoped to create additional breathing space for drivers.
