€4m boutique hotel planning application submitted for Patrick Street, Limerick

Developer Tony Enright has applied to Limerick City and County Council for planning permission to convert the former Student Campus language school on 17‑19 Patrick Street into a €4 million, 35‑bedroom boutique hotel.

The proposal would see four upper floors of the existing building fitted with compact rooms, each floor including one accessible room. The design is described as “boutique by design, Limerick by nature”, aiming to offer a “warm” and “characterful” city hotel that reflects the local atmosphere.

Enright, who recently secured permission for a restaurant conversion of the former Dunnes Stores on O’Connell Street, says the hotel will target couples, leisure and business travellers, as well as visitors to sporting events and concerts. The ground‑floor Mexican restaurant Boojum would remain in place.

Limerick City and County Council is due to decide on the application by Wednesday, 18 November.
