McHappy Day returns to Letterkenny raising funds for Ronald McDonald House

McDonald’s on Pearse Road in Letterkenny hosted the first annual McHappy Day in over ten years on Saturday, raising money for the Ronald McDonald House charity.

The restaurant was busy with families, local supporters and members of the emergency services, including Gardaí and the Donegal Fire Service, who helped promote the charity’s work.

Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation and practical assistance to families of seriously ill children receiving hospital treatment, enabling them to stay close to their loved ones.

Funds were collected through selected meal purchases and additional customer donations throughout the day, with organisers describing the event as “great fun, great community spirit”.

Community response

Victor Byrne and the McDonald’s Letterkenny team said they were delighted with the community’s response and the support from emergency services in publicising the charity.
