Gardaí seek witnesses after fatal hit‑and‑run on N69 near Listowel

A pedestrian was killed in a hit‑and‑run collision on the N69 near Dromin Upper, Listowel, shortly after 3 am on Saturday.

The incident occurred on the main Tarbert Road between Cahirdown Roundabout and the townland of Derry. A van struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have closed the N69 to conduct an examination. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the road between 2.30 am and 4 am, or who has dash‑cam or mobile phone footage of the area, to come forward.
