US National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton has warned that Iran has “substantially increased efforts to target US personnel”…

President Donald Trump will visit Michigan on Sunday as part of his mid‑term campaign, where Republicans are targeting the open U.S. Senate seat.
The seat will be contested on 3 November between Democratic candidate Abdul El‑Sayed, a former public‑health official, and Republican Mike Rogers, a former congressman who has received Trump’s endorsement.
Trump has repeatedly criticised El‑Sayed, describing him with inflammatory language that the Democratic Party says attacks his faith. El‑Sayed, born in the United States to Egyptian immigrant parents, would become the first Muslim senator if elected.
The visit follows former President Barack Obama’s appearances in Michigan and Ohio on Saturday supporting Democratic candidates. El‑Sayed has challenged Trump to come to the state, suggesting a Trump stop could backfire on Rogers.
During the campaign, Rogers has questioned El‑Sayed’s loyalty, while both candidates have faced scrutiny over past remarks. The race is the first time the GOP has a realistic chance of winning a Michigan Senate seat in more than thirty years.
