Three Immigrants Die During ICE Transfers in US on 13 July

Three men died on 13 July while being transferred by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in the United States, according to reports.

In Biddeford, Maine, 7 a.m. residents saw Joan Sebastián Durán Guerrero leave his apartment with his partner and daughter before a series of three gun‑like sounds were heard and Durán Guerrero was found dead.

In Ocilla, Georgia, Jesús Manuel Arenas‑Silva was moved onto a bus as part of a relocation of detainees to another centre. Ten minutes into the journey he became unconscious and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

The incidents occurred as ICE intensified its enforcement actions, described by officials as a “quiet but gruesome” surge in arrests and transfers.

These deaths highlight concerns over the safety of detainees during ICE operations across multiple states.
