Ramelton driver disqualified and fined €600 for uninsured driving

A 20‑year‑old man from Ramelton has been disqualified from driving for two years and fined a total of €600 after being found to be uninsured.

The case of Bradley William Lewis Coyle was heard in Letterkenny District Court. Garda Liam O’Riordan testified that on the night of 12 November 2025 he stopped Coyle’s black BMW 320 on Navenny Street, Ballybofey at 10.55 pm and lawfully demanded proof of insurance or a certificate of exemption.

Coyle elected to produce the documents at Milford Garda Station but failed to do so, the court was told. He did not attend the hearing and was unrepresented.

Judge Emile Daly convicted Coyle of driving without insurance, imposing a €350 fine payable within four months, and a two‑year driving ban. A separate conviction for failing to produce insurance resulted in a €250 fine, also with a four‑month payment period.

The court noted Coyle has no previous convictions.
