New legal thriller *War* starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller debuts

The eight‑part series *War*, starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller, has launched as the latest television drama to explore the lives of the ultra‑wealthy.

Set in the elite world of London law, the show follows the explosive divorce of British tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson (West) and international film star Carla Duva (Miller). The case pits two of the city’s most prestigious rival firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, against each other in what the producers describe as “the divorce case of the century”.

Cast and production

Written by George Kay, the series also features Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens as senior partners at the rival firms. West, 56, said playing a billionaire was “a step up in competence” and highlighted his character’s relationship with his stepson Gabriel, played by Aran Murphy, as a redeeming element. Miller, 44, noted that her character Carla is “very in command of her environment and quite ruthless”, a stark contrast to her own personality.

West and Miller previously worked together in a 2005 West End production of *As You Like It*. Both actors said reuniting for *War* was a pleasure, despite the demanding shooting schedule.

Commenting on audience fascination with the rich, West recalled watching American soaps such as *Dallas* and *Dynasty* in his youth, while Miller described the appeal as “aspirational” and a way to glimpse the “ugliness” that can accompany wealth.
