Over 1,500 motorists caught speeding in Bank Holiday road policing operation
Gardaí have recorded more than 1,500 speed‑limit offences during the first two days of the October Bank Holiday…

Gardaí are investigating the motive behind an attack that left 38‑year‑old Jamie Bailey dead in Dublin’s north inner city.
Bailey, originally from Limerick and resident in the capital for several years, was found injured on the footpath of Blackhorse Avenue in the early hours of Sunday. A passerby alerted Gardaí and emergency services, and the man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The location of the incident was between Blackhorse Grove and Glen Bay Road, at the North Circular Road end of Blackhorse Avenue. Gardaí promptly sealed off the area and are reviewing CCTV footage from a nearby shop.
Investigators have asked any witnesses to contact Bridewell Garda Station. It is believed Bailey knew people in the Blackhorse Avenue area, and detectives are exploring whether the assault stemmed from a personal disagreement or a recent incident.
