Over 1,500 motorists caught speeding in Bank Holiday road policing operation
Gardaí have recorded more than 1,500 speed‑limit offences during the first two days of the October Bank Holiday…

Gardaí are currently assessing the contents and credibility of a threatening email that was sent to a number of schools on 14 October, the day thousands of teachers, SNAs and school staff were on strike.
The Department of Education confirmed that schools involved in the industrial action received the communication and have been instructed to report the threat to An Garda Síochána. The department said it had consulted with the Gardaí and that any school that received the email should ring 999, report the threat and cooperate fully with any Garda instructions.
In a statement, the department advised schools, boards of management, management bodies and unions that they can continue to operate as normal unless otherwise directed by An Garda Síochána, and that the situation will be monitored with further advice issued as required.
The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) said it was not in a position to comment, but urged members to report any concerns to the Gardaí and follow their advice.
