Over 1,500 motorists caught speeding in Bank Holiday road policing operation
Gardaí have recorded more than 1,500 speed‑limit offences during the first two days of the October Bank Holiday…

Gardaí in Inishowen have launched an appeal for dash‑cam footage after a vehicle sped through a crime‑prevention checkpoint in Bridgend on Saturday night.
The Buncrana Gardaí were operating the checkpoint in the border area when a car failed to stop and drove through the checkpoint at speed. A Garda stinger device was deployed and the vehicle subsequently collided with roadside fencing before being abandoned.
Following the crash, Gardaí seized the car along with several knives, mobile phones and other items.
Investigators are asking anyone who was travelling in the Bridgend area between 11:30 pm on 17 October and 12:30 am on 18 October and who has dash‑cam footage to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 93 20 540 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
