€323,000 worth of cannabis seized and man in his 20s arrested in Cork

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €323,000 was seized and a man in his 20s was arrested during a garda operation in the Mallow district of County Cork on Saturday.

The raid was carried out by gardaí from the Cork County Divisional Drugs Unit, supported by the Cork County Crime Units, Regional Dog Units and the Armed Support Unit. Several homes were searched as part of the operation.

Initial seizures included cannabis valued at approximately €208,000, pending analysis, while a follow‑up search in Doneraile yielded a further €115,000 worth of cannabis, also subject to analysis.

The arrested individual is being held at a garda station in County Cork under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. All seized material will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for laboratory testing.
