Cuba accuses United States of deliberate humanitarian suffering at UN

Cuba’s foreign minister, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, told the United Nations that the United States is waging an economic war against the Cuban people.

Rodríguez Parrilla described the U.S. embargo as a crime and a form of collective punishment, claiming it is intended to provoke a humanitarian crisis on the island.

The Cuban delegation said the blockade is deliberately inflicting suffering and called for international action to end what it termed a deliberate policy of hardship.
