An east Donegal community group has been forced to relocate its lifesaving defibrillator following a break‑in at the Crossroads and Killygordon Enterprise (CAKE) Centre.

On Thursday, 29 October, an 8 ft × 5 ft aluminium trailer with mesh sides was stolen from the rear of the centre around 12:50 am and was later seen being towed through the Aghyaran area on the Tyrone side of the border.

CAKE announced on its Facebook page that, to secure the premises it shares with Curragh Athletic FC, the AED will now be placed on the outside wall of the centre and will remain accessible while the centre is open. A list of other publicly accessible AED locations in the community is being provided for use outside business hours.

Gardaí are appealing for information about the theft, particularly any sightings of a white Ford estate car believed to have been in the area. Anyone with details is asked to contact Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071‑985 8530 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
