Over 1,500 motorists caught speeding in Bank Holiday road policing operation
Gardaí have recorded more than 1,500 speed‑limit offences during the first two days of the October Bank Holiday…

Several primary and secondary schools in Donegal received threatening emails about a possible bomb attack on the day the story broke.
An Garda Síochána confirmed they are assessing the situation and are engaging with a number of educational establishments. The Gardaí have asked any school that received the email to ring 999, report the threat and follow any instructions.
No pupils were present in the schools because of the public‑sector strikes, although teachers, SNAs and other staff were picketing outside. The Department of Education said it has consulted with the authorities and has passed the Garda advice to schools, boards of management, management bodies and unions.
The Department added that schools may continue to operate as normal unless the Gardaí advise otherwise. The emails are reported to be similar to threats sent to schools in other parts of the country, and the Gardaí are examining both the content and credibility of the communications while probing their source.
