Ballymaloe Cookery School co‑founder Rory O’Connell married his partner Ruaidhrí Carmody on Thursday, 15 October, at the Ballymaloe House Hotel in East Cork.

The Ballycotton resident shared photos on Instagram, writing “One week married. What a day it was. So much joy.” O’Connell, who founded the legendary cookery school with his sister Darina Allen in 1983 and still teaches there, chose the family‑owned hotel for the ceremony.

Guests included chef and cookbook author Clodagh McKenna and her husband Harry Herbert, as well as Darina Allen and niece‑in‑law Rachel Allen, also a cookbook author.

McKenna posted details of the wedding menu, highlighting a hors d’oeuvre buffet, Ballycotton John Dory, a classic Ballymaloe cheese board, and a dessert trolley created by JR Ryall, with head chef Dervilla Flynn overseeing the dinner.
