Bus Éireann has recognised two employees from Stranorlar for their contributions at the 2026 GEM Awards.
Caroline Gallagher, based at the local Bus Éireann depot and from Ardeskin, received the West Wellbeing Award. The company highlighted her role in organising bowling nights, team‑bonding events and a step‑challenge to encourage colleagues to stay active and build relationships outside work. Rory Leahy, Chief Safety & Sustainability Officer, said Gallagher “makes a real difference to the atmosphere in the office by creating opportunities for colleagues to connect, enjoy themselves and stay active.”
Conor McDevitt, also from the Stranorlar depot and from Cummirk, was named Apprentice of the Year in the West. Leahy praised McDevitt’s strong work ethic, enthusiasm for learning and willingness to support newer apprentices, noting that he “sets a great example for other apprentices and is a very deserving winner.”
The awards acknowledge both staff members’ dedication to fostering a positive workplace and developing their skills within Bus Éireann’s Donegal operations.
