Limerick Libraries, with support from the Creative Ireland Programme, have launched the “One Limerick One Book” initiative to encourage residents to read, discuss and share a single title across the city and county.

The inaugural book selected is the thriller Tell The Truth by Limerick author Karen Fitzgibbon. The title was chosen for its strong local connection, broad appeal to general readers and book clubs, and the availability of sufficient copies for a county‑wide programme.

Fitzgibbon welcomed the inclusion of her novel, noting the importance of a strong sense of place in her writing and expressing excitement that the story would connect with Limerick readers.

The scheme builds on the successful One County, One Book model that has been delivered by public library services in several Irish local authority areas, aiming to foster community cohesion through a shared reading experience.
