A man has been charged following a Gardai raid on a suspected drug den in Burnfoot, County Donegal.…

A court in Letterkenny has granted bail to a man in his 30s charged with breaching a protection order, imposing a range of strict conditions.
Judge Emile Daly heard evidence from a Garda that the defendant had been arrested for an offence contrary to section 33 of the Domestic Violence Act 2018 and subsequently charged with breaching a protection order under section 33(1) of the Act. The man did not reply when cautioned.
Garda Sergeant Jim Collins said there was no objection to bail but the State sought “very strict conditions”. The bail was set at €150 with no cash required.
Conditions include: no consumption of alcohol or illegal drugs; provision of a mobile phone number and 24/7 contactability; continued compliance with the protection order; and no interference with witnesses. He must also stay out of the bedroom of the protection order’s applicant and, specifically, must not leave any rubbish containing bodily fluids in the communal area of the house.
The case was adjourned to December, with disclosure to be provided to the defendant’s legal team by the end of November.
