Met Éireann has issued a status‑yellow wind warning for County Donegal that will take effect at 5 pm on…

Journalist Vincent Browne has published a new biography of former Taoiseach Charles Haughey, titled Charles Haughey: Glory, Greed and Guns.
The book draws on archival material and Browne’s own decades of reporting on the divisive political figure, who served three terms as Taoiseach. It examines Haughey’s personal wealth, the events that shaped his political career and the legacy he left for Irish politics.
Browne told The Pat Kenny Show the project took nine years to complete. He recalled meeting Haughey in 2000 after the former leader’s serious illness, writing a letter that prompted Haughey to invite him out for several visits. Their conversations formed the basis of the biography, although Browne did not keep detailed notes, relying on his recollections.
The idea for the biography emerged only after Browne published a piece on Haughey’s final years on the day of the former Taoiseach’s death, when literary agent Jonathan Williams suggested a full biography. The book is now published by Woodbine Books and is available in bookshops.
Woodbine Books has released the biography, which is currently stocked in Irish bookshops.
