Independent councillor Ursula Gavan questioned Limerick City and County Council on its winter storm readiness.

At a recent council meeting the authority replied that it holds adequate salt supplies to treat designated priority routes during frost, ice and snow conditions.

The council also said it has recently met with local authority districts to confirm that resources such as road, drainage and emergency crews are in place for the upcoming winter.
