Over 1,500 motorists caught speeding in Bank Holiday road policing operation
Gardaí have recorded more than 1,500 speed‑limit offences during the first two days of the October Bank Holiday…

A man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s have been charged and are due to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court this afternoon in connection with the arson attack that killed four members of the English family in Waterford.
The accused are expected in court at approximately 4.30 pm on Saturday, 17 October. The victims – Philip and Kim English and their sons Callum, 12, and Jayden, 9 – died when their home was set alight on Tuesday. Two other children remain in critical condition in hospital.
Gardaí arrested the pair on Thursday on suspicion of facilitating the activities of an organised crime group. Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly said on Friday that a number of searches had been carried out and items seized as part of the investigation, and that An Garda Síochána had “given every resource” to the murder inquiry, with further arrests expected.
The funerals of the four victims are scheduled to take place in Waterford on Monday.
