Raphoe selected for new permanent purpose‑built childcare centre

Raphoe has been chosen as one of the first sites to receive funding under the Government’s Early Learning and Childcare Capital Programme.

The project will deliver a permanent, purpose‑built childcare facility that will expand the existing community service and increase capacity for families in the town and surrounding East Donegal area.

Fianna Fáil TD for Donegal, Pat the Cope Gallagher, welcomed the announcement made by Minister for Children, Disability and Equality Norma Foley TD, describing the investment as a “major vote of confidence” in the community.

Gallagher said the modern facility will support children, parents and staff, and help local families access high‑quality, affordable childcare, enabling parents to pursue work, education and training.

He added that while the decision is positive for Raphoe, other childcare settings in Donegal are still awaiting decisions on their applications, and he will continue to advocate on their behalf.
