Hundreds Still Without Power in Limerick After Yellow Wind Warning

Hundreds of homes and businesses across Limerick remain without electricity on Wednesday morning following a Status Yellow wind warning.

The storm knocked out power to a number of towns, including Garyspillane, Rathkeale, Bruff, Hospital, Ahane, Cappamore, Kilmallock and Newcastle West. ESB Networks crews continued working through the night to restore supply.

ESB’s PowerCheck service indicated that most affected areas could expect power to be restored between 1 pm and 8 pm on Wednesday. The utility thanked residents and business owners for their patience and apologised for the outage, stating that crews were repairing a fault affecting premises.

Downed trees also blocked several roads overnight, further disrupting travel in the county.
