Man charged over €140,000 cocaine seizure in Cork
41‑year‑old Farid Fawzi of Coneybeg, Rathpeacon, County Cork, appeared at Cork District Court charged with possession of cocaine…

A 47‑year‑old man, Daniel Simion Toader, has been charged with the murder of 48‑year‑old Romanian pharmacy worker Loredana Morosanu.
Gardaí discovered Morosanu’s body on Melville Terrace in Finglas shortly after 4.30 am on Monday and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Toader, also residing on Melville Terrace, appeared before a special sitting of Dublin District Court on the night of his arrest. He was assisted by a Romanian interpreter during the hearing.
Sergeant Niall Murray of Finglas Garda Station told the court that Toader was arrested on Tuesday evening for the offence of murder, was cautioned and gave no reply to the charge after being cautioned.
Judge Máire Conneely inquired about legal representation; Sgt Murray confirmed that Toader had eight consultations while in detention but was not represented in court. The judge noted ongoing disputes involving criminal legal aid solicitors and expressed hope for a swift resolution.
Because of the murder charge, bail was denied. Toader was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday morning.
