Instagram has deleted the account of Cork‑based social media personality “Rendy Vlad” after repeated violations of the platform’s bullying and harassment rules.

Meta, Instagram’s parent company, confirmed to the Irish Examiner that the account @rendy_vlad was removed. The account was operated by 21‑year‑old Ukrainian‑born Vladyslav Morhulets, who previously studied at MTU and had amassed over 1.1 million followers on TikTok and nearly 12,000 on Instagram.

Morhulets is known for filming “pranks” using camera‑equipped smart glasses, often capturing unsuspecting members of the public in Cork and elsewhere in Ireland. The Data Protection Commission has previously raised concerns about the misuse of such smart glasses.

A Meta spokesperson said the company “doesn’t tolerate harassing content, however it was captured,” and noted that the glasses are designed to flash a bright LED when recording, with automatic camera disabling if the light is covered or tampered with.
