Former world middleweight challenger Jason Quigley has announced plans to bring a title fight to Donegal in 2027.

Since becoming a promoter with Sheer Sports Promotions, Quigley has staged five professional boxing events in the county, including three editions of “Rumble In The Hills” at the Aura Leisure Complex and two “Fight Night At The Valley” cards at the Finn Valley Centre.

Saturday night’s six‑round card

The latest event, a 10‑fight card at the Aura, was headlined by Fermanagh‑born Rhys Owens, who defeated Peru’s Cesar Ignacio Parades. Owens, now 5‑0 in his first year as a professional, was praised by Quigley for his adaptability and control in the ring.

Other notable performances included Aodhan Byrne’s six‑round points win over Benito Sanchez Garcia in only his third bout, debutant Vitalli Ustimov’s stoppage victory, Kian Hedderman’s points win over Nikodem Schwarz, and Ryan O’Rourke extending his record to 14‑0 in his first Irish fight.

Quigley said the current shows are “building the foundations” and that he intends to have “big title fights” in Donegal “next year,” aiming to fill the venue to capacity and raise the profile of Irish boxing.
