A well‑known Donegal family announced they will retire from their shop business after 54 years.

The Curran family said they will hand over the reins of their Londis store on Conlin Road, Killybegs, next week. Their Facebook post stated the shop will close its doors at 2 pm on Friday 6 November.

According to the post, the store will reopen the following day, 7 November, under new management by Javaid and Shay.

The Currans thanked past and present staff and customers for their loyalty and support, noting they have enjoyed “years behind the counter serving you all, trading stories and plenty of laughter throughout the decades.”

The retirement marks the end of a half‑century presence in the community, with the family expressing gratitude for the relationships built over the decades.
