Traffic delays build in Letterkenny after van‑car collision and HGV breakdown

Motorists travelling through Letterkenny have been warned of growing traffic delays on Wednesday afternoon following two separate incidents.

The first incident involved a collision between a van and a car on Convent Road. The crash has caused traffic to build in the surrounding area as emergency services attend the scene.

In a separate incident, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) broke down on Port Road near the approach to the Polestar Roundabout. The breakdown has also resulted in a buildup of vehicles awaiting clearance.

Both incidents are occurring ahead of the busy school period, prompting Gardaí to advise drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and to follow any directions from traffic officers.

Motorists are urged to remain patient and consider alternative routes where possible to minimise disruption.
