Shannon Airport will add a Ryanair route to Milan Bergamo, scheduled to begin on 28 March 2027.
The twice‑weekly service will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays, creating an estimated 25,000 additional seats for the Summer 2027 programme. The route is aimed at boosting inbound tourism and regional economic activity, offering travellers direct access to Milan, the Italian Lakes and the wider Lombardy area.
Ray O’Driscoll, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group, welcomed the announcement, describing Ryanair’s decision as a “strong vote of confidence” in Shannon and its growing demand for international travel. Declan Power, Head of Aviation Development at Shannon, said the new flight builds on a record 2026 programme that featured 40 services and joins existing Ryanair links to Rome, Naples and Turin.
Ryanair’s Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, noted the route provides a low‑fare connection for Mid‑West customers and highlighted Milan’s cultural appeal and Bergamo’s proximity to the Italian Lakes. Tickets are available now via the Ryanair app or website.
