The Chicago Bears have credited strong third‑down performance for their 6‑2 start to the season, converting 7 of 15 attempts in Monday night’s 34‑17 win at Seattle.

Defensively, the Bears have allowed an NFL‑low 19 third‑down conversions in 80 attempts, giving opponents a 23.8% success rate, the lowest in the league.

Quarterback Caleb Williams highlighted the team’s belief in each other, noting contributions from offense, defence and special teams. Defensive lineman Austin Booker praised the recent acquisition of All‑Pro tackle Jeffery Simmons, who recorded a sack in the Seattle game and is expected to bolster the interior pass rush.

Chicago leads the NFL with 51 third‑down conversions on offense, including a 3‑for‑4 effort on the first possession against Seattle that culminated in a 1‑yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden.

Running back D’Andre Swift rushed for three touchdowns, reaching 10 rushing TDs for the season – the most by a Bear in the first eight games since 1956. He finished with 27 carries for 69 yards.

Penalties remain a concern, with the Bears flagged 10 times for 85 yards, compared with Seattle’s five for 43. The team has been penalised 31 times for 287 yards during its three‑game win streak.

Chicago will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in the final of three consecutive primetime games.
