Man charged with murder of Romanian woman found in Finglas
A 47‑year‑old man, Daniel Simion Toader, has been charged with the murder of 48‑year‑old Romanian pharmacy worker Loredana…

Three brothers, including two prominent real‑estate developers, have each been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of drugging and raping dozens of women over several decades.
The United States District Court in New York found Tal Alexander, 40, and his twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, guilty in March of using their wealth and social standing to lure women to parties and luxury homes where the assaults took place. Judge Valerie Caproni described their conduct as “monstrous” before imposing the sentences.
During the sentencing hearing, twelve victims gave impact statements, recounting the psychological trauma they suffered. Several victims, including one who had not testified at trial, called for life imprisonment. Prosecutor Elizabeth Espinosa urged the maximum punishment, noting the brothers’ method of offering promises of luxury while drugging the women.
The brothers’ defence counsel sought 15‑year terms, arguing the men were devoted fathers and that their families would suffer. The brothers maintained their innocence, with Tal Alexander claiming a “work‑hard, play‑hard” mentality.
Judge Caproni also ordered each brother to serve an additional 20 years for related offences, to run concurrently with the primary sentences. The five‑week trial featured testimony from eleven women, some minors at the time, who described being given gifts, flown to locations such as Aspen and the Bahamas, and drugged before the assaults.
The Alexanders previously worked for Douglas Elliman and later founded the New York‑based firm Official, while Alon was employed by the family security company Kent Security.
