Trump tells MS Now reporter to “be quiet” after press‑pool ban query

U.S. President Donald Trump told MS Now White House correspondent Akayla Gardner to “be quiet” when she asked whether he only wants supportive outlets in the press pool.

The exchange came as the White House confirmed it had barred CNN from travelling aboard Air Force One to provide pool television coverage of the president’s trip to Tennessee.

Trump reiterated his criticism of CNN and MS Now, describing the latter as overly negative and saying he had attempted to ban its coverage.

Gardner’s question, asked as Trump left the White House on Saturday, highlighted concerns that the administration was limiting media access to outlets that are favourable to the president.

The incident adds to ongoing tensions between the White House and news organisations over press‑pool arrangements and the president’s relationship with the media.
