Limerick soprano Eve Stafford to stage Movies & Musicals concert in Adare

Limerick soprano Eve Stafford will return to Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel in Adare on Sunday 4 October for her third consecutive annual autumn concert.

The afternoon programme, titled “Movies & Musicals”, will feature music from cinema and stage favourites such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Mary Poppins, Les Misérables, The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz and The Greatest Showman.

Stafford will be joined on stage by violinist Anna Jane Ryan and pianist Eóin Scanlon, both returning musicians. A highlight of the show will be “Vide Cor Meum”, the aria composed by Limerick‑born composer Patrick Cassidy for Ridley Scott’s film Hannibal, later used in Kingdom of Heaven.

Speaking about the concert, Stafford said she was “thrilled to bring a completely new Movies & Musicals programme to the stage this year” and expressed pride in performing a piece by an internationally renowned Limerick composer on home soil.

The event follows Stafford’s recent receipt of an Arts Council of Ireland Agility Award, which supports her artistic development and contemporary classical collaborations. The concert begins at 2 pm with afternoon tea and a glass of Prosecco, with the performance commencing at 4 pm.
