During a United Nations General Assembly session, a heated exchange broke out between United States and Cuban representatives.
U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz alleged that the Cuban government in Havana has profited from the forced labour of its citizens. In response, members of the Cuban delegation, led by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, slammed tables and shouted for a point of order.
The incident adds to a long history of public spats between the two nations at international forums.
