A group of Limerick creatives will launch The Limerick Poetry Mag on Thursday, 29 October, with proceeds supporting the Limerick Mental Health Association (LMHA) and Solace Café.
The Blue Flame Poetry Club, which meets at Solace Café on Sarsfield Street each Twilight Thursday, will donate a large share of the book’s sales to LMHA. The Mag, priced at €5, features poems by Limerick writers of all ages and will be available at the launch, as well as at LMHA, Celtic Book Store, The Commercial and Quay Books.
Solace Café, located in the Old Pier One Hotel building, offers a free, non‑clinical walk‑in service for anyone over 18 experiencing mental‑health difficulties. The peer‑support service provides a safe, non‑judgmental space for conversation.
The launch event runs from 7 pm to 9 pm at Solace Café, with refreshments provided. Organisers also plan to publish a new poetry book each quarter and are encouraging new members to join the club.
