Trump repeats Islamophobic claims at final US rally stops
US President Donald Trump used his last two campaign rallies, in Iowa and Kansas, to repeat Islamophobic accusations…

Supporters of Republican Congressman Ralph Norman have launched a grassroots write‑in campaign for the US Senate in South Carolina, challenging the party’s official nominee, Senator Darline Graham, who has the endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
Norman, who represents the state’s fifth congressional district, lost the August Republican primary to Graham, who was appointed to fill the seat after the death of her brother, Senator Lindsey Graham, on 11 July. Graham’s rapid move to seek a full six‑year term, encouraged by Trump’s “RUN, DARLINE, RUN!” post on Truth Social, has sparked discontent among some conservatives.
Avery Milton, a 28‑year‑old South Carolina native and former Trump voter, says many younger conservatives feel betrayed by Trump’s policies, including a war on Iran. Milton is helping to organise the Write‑In Ralph effort, creating a website and urging voters to write Norman’s name on the ballot.
Write‑in candidates rarely win; the last notable success was Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski in 2010. In the 2022 South Carolina Senate race, write‑in votes accounted for just 0.1 percent of the total.
Milton argues that a write‑in would offer a “independent” voice rather than a candidate who simply follows party leadership, aiming to give grassroots conservatives an alternative in the upcoming election.
