Gardaí seek driver of speeding car that ignored Mountcharles checkpoint

Gardaí in Donegal Town are searching for the driver of a car that failed to stop at a speed‑check checkpoint on the N56 in Mountcharles on Monday, 26 October.

The Donegal Town Roads Policing Unit was conducting a speed check at approximately 12.40 am when a vehicle, possibly a black VW Passat, was detected travelling well above the speed limit.

Despite being signalled to stop, the car continued at high speed towards Glenties, evading the checkpoint.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who drove the route between 00.30 am and 1 am that night and has dash‑cam footage to contact them and provide the recording.
