McDonald’s to hire staff for new Ballyraine outlet in Letterkenny
McDonald’s has announced recruitment for its forthcoming restaurant in Ballyraine, Letterkenny, with both full‑time and part‑time positions available.…

The three‑bedroom semi‑detached house that housed Eileen Nolan’s original Montfort College of Performing Arts studio is now on the market in Ballyvolane.
Ms Nolan opened the dance studio in 1962 in the grounds of her 1950s home at the bottom of Gordon’s Hill. Over the decades the Montfort students became a fixture of Cork’s entertainment scene, appearing in local musicals, cabaret, the annual Summer Revels variety show, the Opera House Christmas pantomime and the Montforts’ own pantomime at the Firkin Crane.
Following Ms Nolan’s death in 2024, estate agent Fiona Waldron of DNG O’Connor Finn is handling enquiries for the property, which includes a separate studio unit still bearing the “Montfort Studio” nameplate. The house measures 141 sq m, has a south‑facing back garden and a BER rating of ‘E’, indicating scope for modernisation and energy improvements, potentially qualifying for a vacant property grant.
Located near the South Ring Business Park, the home is a short walk from the Ballyvolane shopping centre, the North Ring Road network, St Luke’s Cross and the city centre. Priced at €345,000, Ms Waldron says the property is aimed at first‑time buyers, many of whom have connections to the Montforts.
