Doon emerged as the standout team in the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship quarter‑finals at the Gaelic Grounds, defeating Adare 2‑27 to 1‑14.
Guided by coaches Derek McGrath, Paul Keane and Denis Moloney, the 2024 champions took control from the start, with full‑forward Donal Coughlan scoring an early goal. The eastern side wrapped up a semi‑final berth by half‑time and never looked back.
Key contributors for Doon included Cian O’Donovan, Aidan O’Connell, Richie English, Chris Thomas, captain Darragh O’Donovan, Dean Coleman and Pat Ryan ‘Simon’. Centre‑forward Adam English, an All‑Star contender, added a further boost to the scoring tally.
Adare’s efforts were led by Conor Ryan, Ronan Connolly, John Fitzgibbon and youngster Patrick Kearney, but they could not match Doon’s firepower.
The senior semi‑finals are scheduled for 11 October at the Gaelic Grounds: Kilmallock v Monaleen at 1.45 pm and Na Piarsaigh v Doon at 3.30 pm. The final will follow on 25 October at 3.45 pm.
