McDonald’s Ireland has announced that its second restaurant in Letterkenny will open on 2 December.
The new outlet on Port Road, near the Polestar Roundabout, will add 80 new jobs, with a mix of full‑time and part‑time positions being recruited ahead of the launch.
Spanning 415 square metres, the restaurant will feature a dual‑lane Drive‑Thru, 40 car‑parking spaces, electric‑vehicle charging facilities and an outdoor seating area, and will operate daily from 6 am until midnight.
Franchisee Aaron Byrne, who also runs McDonald’s sites in Mayo, Galway, Clare and Limerick, said the expansion will strengthen the chain’s connection with the people of Donegal and bring further investment to the area.
The Port Road site is the fifth new McDonald’s opening in Ireland in 2026 and brings the total number of Irish restaurants to 100, with 99 currently owned by 18 local franchisees employing over 7,500 staff nationwide.
