Three possible outcomes for the US midterm elections
Analysts say three distinct scenarios could emerge from the US midterm elections, each with different implications for control…

The US Department of Justice has said that Donald Trump’s proposed 250‑ft (76‑metre) triumphal arch in Washington, D.C., would not be completed until after the end of his second term.
If the project receives approval, the department expects an initial six‑to‑eight‑month phase of excavation and foundation work that could start as early as Thursday. Above‑ground construction would not begin until May 2027 at the earliest.
Overall, the Justice Department estimates the entire build will take between 33 and 39 months, meaning the arch would be finished well beyond the conclusion of Trump’s presidency.
