Donegal‑born Caoimhe Ní Chathail will present TG4’s four‑part documentary series “Spriocanna Saoil”, which premieres on Wednesday 11 November.
The series examines motherhood, love, purpose, health and the pressure to have everything sorted by age 30. Ní Chathail, now based in Belfast, asks questions such as whether she should have children, when to meet “the one”, and what truly constitutes wellbeing.
Each of the four episodes follows Ní Chathail as she meets people with diverse life paths, filmed across Derry, Belfast, Dublin, Achill Island, Galway, Dingle and Donegal. The first episode looks at societal expectations around motherhood, the second at relationships, the third at finding purpose later in life, and the final episode explores holistic health and wellbeing.
Through candid conversations and personal reflection, “Spriocanna Saoil” challenges conventional timelines and suggests that happiness may lie in embracing varied routes rather than adhering to a single plan.
