Videos from Halloween night show cars set alight, fireworks exploding erratically and high‑speed driving through housing estates in Dublin.

The disorder was centred on the Cherry Orchard area of Ballyfermot, where multiple vehicles and bins were ignited and crowds gathered on pavements and in gardens to watch the chaos. Some footage shows cars deliberately crashing into one another, while streets were littered with debris, bonfires and exploding fireworks.

Gardaí were reportedly instructed not to enter the Cherry Orchard area because of the serious disorder, according to sources.

In a separate incident, a children’s train was seen being driven on public roads in the Malahide area of County Dublin.

Dublin Fire Brigade received a record number of calls, with 347 incidents reported by 8 pm on Saturday, 281 of which were Halloween‑related. This exceeds the 320 calls (276 Halloween‑related) recorded on 31 October last year, said Chief Fire Officer Greg O’Dwyer.
