Muireann Bradley, a 19‑year‑old singer from Ballybofey, Donegal, has become the youngest female artist in 22 years to reach number one on the Official British Jazz & Blues Chart.
The double EP “Rose Dogs and Blackwood Pew” secured the top spot yesterday, making Bradley the first female to lead the chart since Katie Melua in 2004.
Bradley shared her reaction on social media, saying she was “astounded” and “delighted” by the achievement and thanked fans for supporting her shows, LPs, CDs and downloads.
She first gained wider attention with a performance on Jool’s Annual Hootenanny on New Year’s Eve 2023, broadcast to a global audience on the BBC. Since then she has been touring the United States and Europe.
Despite her international success, Bradley remains grounded, continuing to work from her home county of Donegal.
