Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information about the unsolved murder of David Nunan, 25, whose body was found on 28 October 2005 at Fairyhill near the Fairyfield estate in Parteen, Co Clare.

Mr Nunan was discovered slumped by a gate on a laneway, having been shot twice in the back. He had been collected from his home in O’Malley Park, Southill, Limerick, after receiving a phone call in the early hours and travelling in a “wine Toyota Carina” that allegedly drove him from Southill to Moyross and then towards Parteen.

Seventeen people have been arrested in connection with the case, but no charges have been laid. Gardaí are specifically seeking details about the driver of the wine Toyota Carina and any other occupants.

The investigation, which began with an incident room at Mayorstone Park Garda Station, has taken nearly 450 statements and retained numerous exhibits. Over the past 21 years, searches have been carried out at various addresses across Limerick.

David Nunan’s mother, Mary Nunan, has repeatedly called for information, describing the murder as “hell” for her family. Anyone with knowledge of the events leading up to the killing is asked to contact Mayorstone Garda Station (061 456980), Henry Street Garda Station (061 212400), the Garda Confidential Line (1800 666 111), or any Garda station.
