Ires REIT, Ireland’s largest institutional landlord, has recommended a €726 million cash takeover bid from Barings International Investment.
The board said it had carefully evaluated the proposal with advisers and unanimously concluded that the offer, at €1,386 per ordinary share, was acceptable for shareholders.
Ires REIT owns more than 3,600 residential units across the country and reports a 99.4 % occupancy rate. The company posted pre‑tax profits of €49.7 million in 2025.
Barings first approached Ires REIT on 5 August, and this is the fifth proposal the group has received. The investor must formally lodge an offer by 9 November.
