Trump to campaign in Ohio for Senate candidate Jon Husted

President Donald Trump will travel to Ohio on Saturday to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted.

The visit is scheduled for Vandalia, just north of Dayton, following stops in Oklahoma on Thursday and Alabama on Friday. Husted, a former state lawmaker, House speaker, secretary of state and lieutenant governor, is seeking to retain the seat vacated by JD Vance when he became vice‑president.

Husted faces a competitive challenge from Democratic former Senator Sherrod Brown, who is attempting a comeback two years after losing his Senate seat to Republican Bernie Moreno. The Ohio race is viewed as pivotal for control of the U.S. Senate.

Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou said the party hopes Trump’s appearance will boost turnout, noting Trump won the state by 11 percentage points in the 2024 election.
